Normally, when Hollywood actors take on a hero role, they invariably have war stories about grueling training regimens.

Not "Big Bang Theory" star Kevin Sussman, whose comic-book store owner Stuart Bloom returns for awkward and accidental action drama in HBO Max's mind-bending spinoff "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" (first episode airs Thursday, July 23, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

Sussman, 55, not only declined to train for the role but also ignored valuable workout advice from Brie Larson, his costar in AppleTV's "Lessons in Chemistry," who knows action quite well after portraying Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He immediately regretted not heeding Larson's advice when doing wirework scenes that involved his high-IQ character flying through the air in "Stuart," seven years after the geek-centric "Big Bang" concluded its 12-season CBS run in 2019.
